Restore is a small business initiative born from skilled woodworking volunteers and unemployed dads of kids in our program coming together to build relationships, furniture and a better life. Restore started with workshops teaching basic carpentry skills and has developed into a custom recycled wood furniture business. Fathers of some of our students build and sell furniture, allowing them to provide for their families and meets their kids’ physical needs. Restore is a necessary complement to our education program. One student went on to start his own woodworking business in his community. Our woodworkers take great pride in “up-cycling” pallet wood to make something beautiful and useful. Restore is not just about furniture, but also restoring men and families to wholeness.
